OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Position summary

Reporting to the Young Israel Beth El Board of Directors, the Administrative Assistant is a resourceful self-starter who anticipates the needs of the shul. In our dynamic, team-oriented work environment, we are looking for a dedicated, hard-working and flexible candidate. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day support of the shul, including billing, coordinating rentals for the social hall, sanctuary, and as a point of contact for membership, vendors, other employees, etc.

 

Responsibilities:

General administrative support answering phones and emails; greeting visitors; correspondence and thank you notes; photocopying and scanning; and interfacing with the technology and social media teams.

Manage and track all accounting related functions, including donations, human resources, membership, check requests for vendors and other providers, monthly reports. These will be tracked electronically on the ShulCloud system (training will be offered).

Perform other related duties as assigned or required; duties and responsibilities may be added or changed.

 

Qualifications:

A minimum 2 years administrative or related experience

Forward-thinking, proactive, and a fast learner

Detail-oriented and thoroughness regarding one's work output.

Able to multi-task.

Fluent in the Microsoft Office suite of tools. Website management a plus.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including a warm and welcoming personality

Demonstrate good judgment and an ability to discern when discretion is needed

Knowledge of Jewish laws, holidays and customs

The YIBE Board of Directors seeks one or more individuals to assist our Digital Media Team. The preferred candidate will be in a college undergraduate program, majoring in one of: communications, corporate communications, digital marketing, information technology, graphic design. Core competencies: creative; work well with other volunteers; team player; ability to understand multiple viewpoints; detail oriented; “can do” attitude; organized with ability to manage multiple tasks; deadline oriented; strong communication skills both written and verbal.
